Vercel announced the general release of Next.js 16 today, completing its four-year migration to Turbopack as the sole default compilation engine for all Next.js applications.
Production static site generation (SSG) builds for large enterprise sites now complete up to 700% faster, while hot-module replacement (HMR) latencies consistently remain below 10 milliseconds even in projects containing tens of thousands of components.
