Signal Foundation Enforces Kyber-1024 Encryption Across All Active Chat Payloads
Signal has updated its Double Ratchet protocol to PQXDHv2, ensuring that all 1-on-1 and group messages are permanently immune to 'harvest now, decrypt later' quantum attacks.
Official Press Release
SignalEncryptionPost-QuantumCybersecurityMessaging
The Signal Technology Foundation announced today that the PQXDHv2 protocol has been enabled across 100% of active Signal desktop and mobile clients worldwide.
The upgrade integrates post-quantum key encapsulation using Kyber-1024 into the standard Extended Triple Diffie-Hellman handshake. This ensures that encrypted communication captured by state actors or corporate adversaries today cannot be retroactively decrypted by future quantum supercomputers.
